Living Gently
Living gently in a way that respects what God has made is part of our joyful discipleship and, by inspiring others to join us, we can begin to change the world – see our Nine Ways leaflet for practical actions. We all know about the three Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – but is this enough? We are proposing a few more Rs in our 7Rs leaflet. Share the ideas in these two leaflets by ordering copies to put out at your church.
Living gently on the Earth is one strand of Green Christian’s Way of Life which also includes daily prayer, public witness and encouragement. Way of Life companions commit to caring for God’s creation in all its forms as a fundamental outworking of their faith.
Living lightly is the right thing to do, but on its own it is not enough. We must also campaign for transformational change. Repentance and Resistance are perhaps the most important things we can be doing as Christian. We must also challenge the rampant consumerism that surrounds us and find joy in enough.
