Alternative Carols for Christmas
Looking for something to sing that tells the truth about the climate emergency that we are in? Please find a great collection of carols for climate change for use in your context, churches, communities. They have come from Grace, an Anglican minister in Manchester.
Two Green Christian members took part in Settle Climate Strike on 26 November – and having read this post – used Twelve Days of Crisis – and We wish for a Greener Christmas. They went down very well.

Hello Ruth, please do take a look at these timely! They are appropriate to ring in the New Year (they don't expire at Christmas)and are our climate action gift, and are meant to be shared as a holiday website:Website is https://www.carolsfortheearth.com/hear-the-carols-share-yoursUnlike other "Climate Carols", these are not humourous or snarky. They are beautifully written to evoke a keep reckoning with the hardships here and to come, and a deep reckoning with our shared responsibility to one anothere, Life, and Earth.

We here in California have done something similar, with carols that are meant to be religious, traditional in feel, and to appeal to those of any faith (there is no reference to Jesus). They are, however, Christian, Jewish, and possibly other-faith compatible, including to the pagan movement, for whoever is fine with references to God. Please do take a look. There are some very fine performances on the share page, and the carols are written out and downloadable in SATB.
