Audrey Bryant: Funeral and Thanksgiving Services: 17 +18 April
One of our much loved and valued founding members just died peacefully, on 10 April 2015.
She had moved to a care home last year in the area where she used to live, so that she could be nearer places she knew.
Suzannah her daughter emailed:
“Audrey died happily and peacefully in her sleep on April 10th at her favourite time of day, 5.15am, just as the sun rises with two of her daughters, Shane and Suzanna, by her side. She is now free to embrace her new adventure beyond death, with all the energy she threw in to her life.
With best wishes – Suzanna Owen
I (Judith Allinson -Green Christian’s Web Editor) knew her for many years when she served on Steering Committee. She was so bright and cheerful. I valued phone conversations with her when I first joined, she was so encouraging.
She told me about her trip to Basel with Judith Pritchard to the first European Ecumenical Assembly (EEA1), convened at Basel, Switzerland in May 1989 to focus on the theme of “Peace with Justice”
She attended (I think) at least one meeting of the Ecumenical Forum of European Christian Women http://www.efecw.net/ on behalf of Christian Ecology Link where she made several friendships and came back with some harrowing tales of conditions some other women had endured.
She stood for the European Parliament as a “Christian for the Greens” in the 1984, and for the Green Party in 1989 (when she took almost 21% of the Green vote in Northamptonshire) and 1994 elections.
