Saving Wildlife and Biodiversity – 60% decline in world wildlife over last 40 years – populations of wild animals (vertebrates)

Populations of mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, and amphibians have, on average, declined by 60% between 1970 and 2014, the most recent year with available data.

The Earth is estimated to have lost about half of its shallow water corals in the past 30 years.

Getting ready for the Easter Uprising

Christian Climate Action is a group of Christians who, like all of us at Green Christian, are fighting climate and ecological breakdown. Many of them are Green Christian members. They think that the issue is serious enough to demand civil disobedience, and are getting together with Extinction Rebellion this Easter in a campaign of peaceful nonviolent direct action calling for action.

Living Planet: Jesus and Advent

One of my favourite modern wooden statues is in a nearby local park. It portrays a butterfly, ladybird, worm and spider clinging on to an ancient fern. Our planet has an abundance of living creatures of all colours, shapes and sizes. Ferns similar to the common bracken were thriving before the dinosaurs roamed the earth.
