‘Is your ecology too small?’

Noddfa Retreat CentreFrom the great story of the universe we learn that there is no disconnection and we are kin in the kin-dom of God with all that is. What will our faith look and sound like when we embrace that revelation?

Our time will be a Christ-centred and biblically-informed journey in that great story. We will travel with prophets, psalmists and cosmologists, singing their songs and telling their stories of homecoming. We will reflect together on our emerging vocation to be co-creators with God, asking forgiveness for the plight of the earth and making straight the way of the Lord in the damaged but still beautiful world in which we live.

Noddfa is a Welsh word meaning haven or refuge – a place of peace and welcome a place where you can regain energy. It is the name of the centre run by the sisters of the Sacred Heart of Mary in Penmaenmawr, on the North Wales coast near Llandudno.

Trains from Chester stop on request at Penmaenmawr station which is a short walk from the Noddfa Centre.  Visit www.noddfa.org.uk

I like the sound of your weekend retreat at Noddfa very much. I am semi retired and I live in North Wales. I am a practicing Quaker and a reserch graduate at Bangor, School of Theology and Religious Studies. My part-time Ph.D is about Spiritual Ecology. I have called it "Hiraethog, place of longing and belonging."I would very much like to join your weekend, but would struggle with your £100.00 fee. Assuming you have a vacant place, do you have a bursary, or could I join you during the day-time without needing accommodation? I live twenty minutes drive away. I would be happy to explain my project and would also be keen to write up some notes with permission and without identifying anyone, and with your approval of my account. Can we discuss this? Even if you have no more places left, now that I have found out about you only this week I would like to explore other ways of keeping in touch too. Kind regards,Angela Burton.

Don't be put off by the lack of trains on the sunday! Go to www.traveline.org.uk and click on Wales to plan your travel with the buses included. This should give you more options for your return journey.
