COP28 London march
Green Christian is joining the faith bloc at Now We Rise, the COP28 Day of Action on 9 December.
COP28, the annual international climate negotiations, this year in the petrostate, Dubai, runs from 30 November to 12 December.
We will be marching in solidarity with all suffering from climate impacts and calling for action at COP28.
- Date – Saturday 9 December
- Gathering – from 11.30am
- Location – St James’s Square, London SW1Y 4LE, next to BP’s office
Sign up here if you wan to join us.
Given the war in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory, a large march calling for a ceasefire will take place in London on the same day as we gather to call for leaders at COP28 to act on the climate crisis,
As a result, we will be taking part in a rally to call for action on the climate crisis, followed by a short march. We will use this moment to gather with other people from different faith and belief groups to pray or reflect on the need for leaders to act. The short march taking place after this rally will end at Trafalgar Square, with many people taking part in the climate march going on to join the Palestine march.
Click here for the prayers we will be saying. So if you’re unable to join this mobilisation for climate justice in person, you can say these prayers with us from wherever you are in the world.
Plan:
- 1150 – Prayer moment
- 1200 – Start
- 1230 – Music
- 1230-1300 – BP rally. Five talks each five minutes.
- 1315 – Arrive at BAE. Three talks.
- 1330 – March to Trafalgar Square.
- 1350 – March ends. Opportunity for people to join Palestine march.
London too far? There are events all over the UK.
