Hartley Wintney raises money for forests

Christmas 2011

– A Rocha – The Big Give –

St. John’s, Hartley Wintney, Hampshire, became the fourth church to raise money for the Rainforest Fund. They organised an alternative Christmas Card in 2011 to raise money for the Rainforest Fund.

This Christmas Card Tree was made from an old cardboard box and members of the congregation were invited to write their Christmas message on a “bauble” and stick it on the tree instead of buying individual cards.

Money raised was donated on line to A Rocha’s Forests programme including A Rocha Ghana. It was given as part of the “Big Give” where signed-up charities received double the donations between 5th and 9th December. –

Hartely Wintney is the fourth church in CEL’s 100 churches project .
