Join us as a Trustee
Through becoming a Trustee, you would contribute to the vision and leadership of Green Christian. Trustees help out as they can, with a minimum commitment to occasional online meetings plus an extra three times a year in person. Trustees help with at least one area of work within Green Christian, depending on their personal interests or expertise and the organisation’s needs (e.g. Administration, Food project, Online media, Joy in Enough, and others). Reasonable expenses may be claimed (e.g. travel to Green Christian meetings).
Applicants should be practising Christians, and have an understanding of sustainability and the crises in climate and nature from a Christian perspective.
“Trustees are the volunteers who lead charities and decide how they are run. Trusteeship is a great way of contributing to causes you care about and developing strategic and leadership skills at the same time. Anyone can be a trustee, regardless of how junior or senior you are in your career, whether you’re in paid employment or not, regardless of your ethnicity, class, gender orientation, sexuality or any other difference. Boards thrive when they have a diversity of skills, knowledge, age and experience.” Charities Commission.

Join us as a volunteer
The majority of work in Green Christian is done by volunteers. Could you be one of them?
With the increasing interest in responding to the ecological crisis our most urgent need is for people willing to facilitate workshops and to speak for us. Training will be given and we have presentations and talks you can use.
We also need people who enjoy writing, social media, arts, administration and event organising.
You decide how much time you are able to give – we have short, time-limited tasks as well as long-term roles.
Interested?
We invite you to prayerfully discern whether you feel moved or inspired to find out more or get involved in any of these roles.
Please email georgedow@greenchristian.org.uk or phone Barbara Echlin on 0345 459 8460 to find out more.
How to apply
- Please send a brief CV and short covering letter saying say why you wish to apply and what you feel you could bring to the role to georgedow@greenchristian.org.uk
- Deadline for applications – 9am 6 May
