Judith our Green Champion

Poppy Pickard writes:

Judith Allinson, Green Christian’s web editor was one five people to be given a Church Times Green Champion Awards. She was presented with her award at Lambeth Palace by Nick Holtam, Bishop of Salisbury and the Cof E’s lead bishop on the environment.

Judith is just to the left of Nick Holtham in the picture above. I was lucky enough to be invited along as Judith’s guest. It was an inspiring occasion and it’s good to see churches leading ‘green’ innovations and really engaging local communities. More details of the winners of the other categories can be found on the Church Times website

The other Green Champions included two other members of Green Christian: Martyn Goss, of Exeter Diocese and Brother Hugh of Hilfield Priory, Dorset so we were well represented.

lt was a nice surprise that all five of us could share the prize. Thank you.

It was great to meet  many of the shortlisted people and winners for the other categories and hear about their projects and to meet the other guests. It was great to take part in the event.

I have written about the Lambeth garden here (garden) and here (steps).
