On the Death of Pope Francis

By Green Christian chaplain, Andrew Norman
It was wonderful to hear the voice of Pope Francis on Easter Sunday from St Peters in Rome, frail but still ringing out over the piazza, speaking powerfully as he named those parts of the world where peace and justice are so urgently needed.
He has been a great and prophetic Christian leader in so many ways. His encyclical Laudato Si will remain a key document in its clear identification of the climate and nature emergency, inspiring Christians together with those of all faiths and none to recognise the priority, practical and spiritual, of a completely connected up response. His Easter blessing was given to the city and the world, urbi et orbi. In the days and years to come his amazing pastoral leadership will continue to be a blessing as a great witness and encouragement for us all.
May he rest in peace.
Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
Just one example of the Pope’s legacy was our joint webinar the following Wednesday – Celebrating 10 Years of Laudato Si’: Raising Hope for Climate Justice.
