Seventh church now raising money for CEL’s Rainforest Fund
A seventh church is now raising money for CEL’s 100 Churches Rainforest Fund.
It is St Ives Free Church (URC) at the market town of St Ives in Cambridgeshire.
This church is already an EcoCongregation.
Mary Cox said
“We asked everyone in the church to give £1-00 during August. We have £98 so far.. So should easily reach £100! and a bit more! Also our sister church at Fenstanton will have a Fundraising event.
It seemed a very “do-able” project. We were glad when some people at a Christening party contributed last week.
We will be giving our money to “World Land Trust”
We look at Christian Ecology Link’s web site every so often when we are looking for ideas for our Eco-Congregation Group.”
Well done St Ives!
