Vegan Statistics

How many vegans are there in the world in 2020? Future Kind in the USA contacted Green Christian with their new report investigating the statistics. https://www.futurekind.com/blogs/vegan/vegan-statistics

The answer is not straightforward. ‘Veganism’ can mean different things to different people, largely depending on their cultural background. An omnivorous diet is the most common, with 73% of the global population regularly eating both animal and non-animal products. 14% are flexitarian, only occasionally eating meat or fish, whilst 3% are pescatarian, eating fish but not meat. At the moment between 2% and 3% are vegans, when defined as eating no animal products at all. In the meantime, demand for plant-based foods keeps growing in both Europe and the United States.
