David Coleman and Rachael Phillips in conversation – Online Workshop

Wednesday 1 October 7pm – 8.15pm. Online
Revd Rachael Phillips leads Magdalene Community Church. She describes this as “an outdoor, all-age Christian community, walking ancient paths in new ways. A gathered people of all ages, meeting God beneath trees and skies in the North East, we worship with song and Sacrament, food and friendship. We craft circles of welcome where soul meets soil. I’m Rev Rachael Phillips and I planted MCC 2.5 years ago in my first year of curacy. I’m an army veteran who found God in a shipping container in Afghanistan 13 years ago, and as someone who feels most at peace outdoors, this is probably why God used me to gather a new church in this way. I am married to Dickie and have a 7 and 1 year old daughters. I am a rugby player, weight lifter and Cross Fit athlete and I love that I see the world differently.”
The Reverend David Coleman is Environmental Chaplain for Eco Congregation Scotland, a post gifted by the United Reformed Church. He visits grassroots churches and sometimes colleges, and engages in ecumenical conversation with many bodies on spiritual and environmental issues. He curates the Season of Creation resource for Scotland. He is a member of the Iona Community, and active in developing challenging reflective visual/liturgical material. David is 62, a widower, with two dependent adult children.
He hosts the launch of this year’s Season of Creation resources with this short video.
