Autumn Greens

Sap hue fades to old gold;
Summer roasting eases to chilled
Acorns ripen, turn tan then drop;
So may we raise our eyes to the hills,
Open our hearts to the cry of nature;
Contemplatively study, then act.

Friendly spiders dangle upon gossamers;
Chestnuts gleam so shiny and fresh,
Haws crowd the twigs, ready for chutney:
May Greens work together, in harmony;
Diverse perspectives; some shared values;
Saving the poisoned, precarious planet.
