Microplastics in our brains
Toxins in the air

This is not how it should end
Rising inequality
Billionaires in superyachts
While countless children starve

This is not how it should end
Fake news and conspiracies
Computer-authored fallacies
Truth replaced with lies

This is not how it should end
Our Lord’s words twisted into hate
To subjugate and dominate;
Our Saviour came to free, not to enslave.

This is not how it should end
Hatred-spewing demagogues
Old men clamouring for war
Slaughtering the young

This is not how it should end
Women in subservience
Immigrants in prison cells
Human rights decimated

This is not how it should end
Genocide in Palestine
Rockets flying through the skies
The Holy Land on fire

This is not how it should end
Nuclear bombs proliferate
Triggers on a knife-edge
Mad men at the helm

This is not how it should end
Revelation engineered
A self-fulfilling prophecy
All life on earth destroyed

Let us choose life, not greed
Let us choose love, not hate
