Here is what we could find to help children and all-age groups to focus on the celebration and protection of God’s world. With many thanks to all the organisations listed below. Do let us know about other resources that you think should be in this list.

Eco Church

Eco Church has lots of age-appropriate resources that fit into the Eco church framework. Here are their materials for children

Greenopoly

Greenopoly is Operation Noah’s Climate Solutions game, which you can download for a small donation. Operation Noah campaigns for Churches to invest more in areas that help the climate such as clean energy and sustainable agriculture.

The game is a fun way to learn about the exciting range of climate solutions available, see their blog about playing Greenopoly at Greenbelt Festival in 2024.

Climate Feelings

This is Christian Aid’s resource for all ages (including children) around climate emotions: Climate Feelings.

Climate Justice Toolkit

The World Council of Churches has a Climate Justice Toolkit with suggestions and good practices for Sunday schools, church-run schools and summer camps to implement the “Churches’ Commitments to Children”. They want children and youth in churches to get informed, get inspired and take action.

CAFOD

CAFOD has resources for children here.

God’s Creation Waits

From the US-base Catholic Climate Covenant, God’s Creation Waits is designed to help children understand faith and environment.

Messy Church

Messy Church is a way of being church for families and others. It is Christ-centred, for all ages, based on creativity, hospitality and celebration.

Muddy Church

Muddy Church is a place for people to gather together, outside and to connect with the space and God.

This site is full of resources designed for use by individual groups – these are all available free to download or use online (there are pre-printed copies available to buy).

Godly Play and Outofthebox

Membership is required to access the stories in Godly Play and Outofthebox. Both have some creation care stories. Many churches will be familiar with this curiosity led approach to storytelling and some will have members who have access to the stories.
