Responding to the Cry of the Earth

Season of Creation

The Season of Creation, an annual Christian celebration to pray and respond together to the cry of Creation, begins on 1 September on the Feast of Creation, and ends 4 October, the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of ecology beloved by many Christian denominations.

The Season of Creation is a good time to renew our commitment to pray for God’s world.

George Dow, Chair of Green Christian, gave this sermon on Luke 14: 1 and 7-14 at St Mary’s Penzance, on 31 August 2025, on the eve of Creationtide. You are welcome to use it.
