Fairtrade Fortnight

The food we eat and the clothes we wear damage the environment… Do we care?
Fairtrade goods cause less damage, are more ethically sourced, give fairer wages and support local projects.
So let’s raise the profile of Fairtrade goods during Fairtrade Fortnight.
For example, St John’s Methodist Church Settle, North Yorkshire, BD24 9JH, is holding a coffee morning on Wednesday 24 September. Someone from the local Coop will be coming with Fairtrade samples from the Coop to enliven the morning with “Try before you buy!”
What is your church or school or community organisation doing for Fair Trade Fortnight? Do tell us in the comments section below.
Christian Concern for One World has produced a suite of Fairtrade Fortnight resources for churches. The materials offer information for services as well as general information about Fairtrade, Fairtrade Fortnight and possible activities. One of the things the main resource does explicitly is link Fairtrade with Season of Creation and Harvest.
Also see their tea reflection and preaching notes for the first Sunday around the Fortnight. These and other prayer and preaching resources can be found at Fair Trade: Prayer, preaching and study – Christian Concern for One World.
Here are some more Fairtrade activities and resources for churches.
Next year Fairtrade Fortnight is returning to its spring slot 2-25 March 2026
