O, Lord we know that you made everything

Tune: Peel Castle, Hymns and Psalms 346
This hymn by Win Walters won first prize in the local section for the 2016 Settle Methodist Circuit Hymn Competition: Theme: The God of Creation.
.
O, Lord we know that you made everything
Skies, mountains,land,seas,stars and planets too.
All they contain.trees.flowers.fruits and crops.
For these we show our grateful thanks to you.
We know as well you made all living things:
Beasts. Birds and fish, All human beings too.
All made by you to share your lovely world,
And yet we fail to care for it for you.
You made the crops to feed all human folk,
Yet still we have not learned how we must share:
Many grow hungry, while we have enough.
Teach us O Lord how we can show we care.
You made the skills of science and design,
All gifts and talents human hands possess.
some used for good yet others spoil your world,
Causing your children sorrow and distress.
Give everyone the will to make your world
As you intended on creation day.
So all your children in each place and time
Can worship you creator, Lord we pray.

Dear Paul MaitenyAlison Williams has forwarded me this message, and I hope to have my single booking in the mail to you by the end of the coming weekend, when I nave shall have found somewhere to print out the form.Ideally would have liked to be at the Edinburgh conference this month, along with friend Alison and with Martin Birdseye. But have only just returned from an Edinburgh visit made for other reasons, and both energy and money forbid such a soon return. In any case, ecology is much more of a keyword for me than is theology! So, hope the day-conference goes very well, and look forward to meeting you in June.Blessings!
