The Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty

Did you know that the annual UN climate conferences, COPs, still hardly mention fossil fuels? And we know that however much we increase renewable capacity, it is only leaving fossil fuels in the ground that will make any difference to our trajectory towards climate breakdown.
The Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty is global initiative to phase out fossil fuels and support a just transition.
The Voyage Continues – Tuvalu 2027
The exciting news is that the world has just seen the First Conference on Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels, which took place in the coal port of Santa Marta, Columbia, April 24-29, 2026.
This historic conference was the first-ever international meeting of governments focused on addressing the threat posed by fossil fuels to our climate system, our health, our security, and our future.
And a second conference is now planned in Tuvalu.
