The Earth is crying out for help.
At Green Christian, we respond to this cry of the earth by gathering like-minded people for prayer, action and encouragement. To meet our aims and vision, we need to expand, reach out to people beyond our current networks and invite them to a deeper commitment.
We are recruiting Trustees who can help to lead and develop Green Christian, and share oversight of our mission. As a Trustee you will have a voluntary role working with fellow Trustees, a large team of volunteers and an established group of part-time staff.
In addition, one of our key programmes is Joy in Enough, a challenge to Christians and an invitation to all people of good will, to join in building a just economy within the ecological limits of the earth. For that we are seeking people who have a passionate interest in and some knowledge of new/green economics to develop the Joy in Enough strategy, either as a Trustee or as a member of a small team of key volunteers.
We are a friendly, outward-facing and innovative membership organisation which values grassroots participation and teamwork. Our members are drawn from all Christian traditions, and we work alongside people of all faiths and none. As a charity we are not affiliated to any political organisation. We have many volunteers who help us in our mission and activities, including Trustees.
Green Christian Trustees share responsibility for the leadership of Green Christian, and meet as a Board six times a year, either in person, or via zoom. In-person meetings usually take place in London, but not always; it is also possible to join these meetings online.
