Wednesday 11 November, 6.30 pm – 7.30 pm (doors open 5.30pm)
Queen Mary University, ArtsOne, Bloc, Mile End Road, London E1 4PA
Photographs of the lives of both people and rivers who pass through Bangladesh and East London by Green Christian member, Peter Musgrave, and friends.
Rivers have always been sources of commerce, transport, irrigation and conquest. This presentation of photographs taken across Bangladesh, depicts rivers and the livelihoods of those who work on or beside them. This theme flows through the rivers of East London and the historical connections of Bengal to London through the East India Company. There will be a focus on the state of many contemporary rivers through pollution, climate change and more. There will also be a tribute to rivers through the medium of song.
