Book Reviews Editor needed!
Are you interested in being part of the editorial team for Green Christian magazine?
We are looking for a book review editor. “It’s a really enjoyable role!” says Tanya Jones who is stepping down after 10 years in the post. We need a reliable, well-organised person who is interested in current environmental issues, within faith communities and beyond. A love of books and good writing is also essential. Support will be given as you learn the ropes and help is always on hand if needed in this volunteer role. Time commitment: 4-5 hours a month, with two or three short editorial team meetings each year by Zoom.
Managing book reviews for Green Christian is not a big time commitment, but it does need somebody who is enthusiastic about books, tactful, organised and reliable, with good written English. The main tasks are:
- Keeping up to date with new books and approaching publishers for review copies
- Finding and corresponding with reviewers – there is a list (and email contacts) of members who volunteer to do this.
- Editing reviews for length, accuracy, house style and readability.
