2023 Annual Members Meeting
Where is the Hope?
Saturday 11 November, 2 – 5 pm
Bring and share lunch from 1 pm
St Andrews Lower Hall, Short Street, London SE1 8LJ, near Waterloo Station
Come and hear what Green Christian has been doing over the past year, and explore with us this year’s theme: “Where is the Hope?”
After this unprecedented year of climate and environmental disasters – catastrophic floods, heat and wildfires – and the world more dependent year by year on fossil fuels, we explore the meaning of the Christian virtue of Hope and its various interpretations in these turbulent times. We ask, too, if it is honest to talk about hope as climate change accelerates, whether hope is the only possible motivator for action, whether our hope is for a particular outcome, whether we place our hope in particular quality or practice, or whether, for some of us, hope is a different quality altogether.
We may find that our thoughts converge, or that we have different meanings of hope.
Do come along if you can, and explore this topic with us, as we seek to navigate uncharted waters. We don’t have the answers – we are keen to hear from you!
All welcome.
